  • They picked a suitable gift based on their passengers interest and activity
  • They gave out the gifts to these passengers usually before the flight
  • The gifts given ranged from Nike watch, to comics to a 15 dollar apple store voucher for apps

Facebook Like and Tweet Button – Email Marketing

January 12th, 2011 No comments

Social Media Integrated with Email Marketing

We are now integrating the Facebook Like button and Twitter Tweet button on all of our and our clients email campaigns.  This makes it much easier to share your email campaign on Twitter and Facebook. Here is how the report works:

Allow your user to share your email to Facebook and Twitter

You can use the existing platform and use the quick links button to drop your Tweet and Facebook Like buttons anywhere on your email. This way your email subscribers can click on these links and share your email on Facebook or tweet about your email campaign.

Share your email on Facebook / Twitter

The next thing you can do is click on the share button from your control panel. This will bring up a popup that allows you to share your email marketing campaign on Twitter, or Facebook.  This way you are leveraging your email subscribers, Facebook fans and your twitter followers.

Social Reputation Management

November 19th, 2010 No comments

Lately we have been working with a number of clients in improving their Social Marketing. We have been working with these clients in getting more fans in Facebook, getting more followers on twitter, more subscribers for their emails, more MySpace fans and so on. What is evidently clear based on the conversations that your social network is having about your brand is that the power is with the consumer. Even if they are not a customer but connected to one of your customers, they have the power to essentially build or break your brand.

That said, we still work in an industry where Social Media is in an infancy. There are companies who have tasted the customer backlash and to be honest, there is not a single company which can please 100% of its customers. Customers have different needs, different demographics which makes it impossible for a bigger company to look after each and every one of them. The best way is to please as many customers as you can and do you best.

Social Media Backlash

So what do you do when your customers tweet bad things about you? The best way is to have a lot of good tweets so that you can officially display that it was an isolated incident.

This is very similar to the rating system for an eBay seller. Most of the eBay sellers don’t have a 100% rating because out of the 10s of thousands of customers some have had bad experience. But overall you can see that they are isolated incidents.

Building Walls

The best strategy however is to build walls around your business so that Social Media backlash (small or big) has a very minimal effect on your business. That you can still manage your business properly and allocate time to fix those issues instead of putting your business on halt.

Social Reputation Management Service

Talk to us about how we have helped clients overcome Social Media Backlash. We can help you put measures in place that can help you ascertain the effect of the backlash as well as a long term strategy to fix the issues you have now and avoid it in the future.

Twitter Stats

We have now created a similar infographic for Twitter followers as below.

twitter stats online business australia

Here is what the twitter stats are telling you as a business owner:

Adding up the numbers on average, the top reasons for a twitter follower to follow your brand is to either receive updates or deals.

* The reason why a twitter user follows your brand is to receive discounts, get updates about upcoming sales, get samples, coupon vouchers etc. So “what is in it for me” is a big factor

* The reason a twitter follower follows you is because they want to stay informed and receive updates about the company.

Please note that the research above only covers American twitter users and not Australian twitter followers. But basically the demographic and user behavior for American users and Australian users wont be that much different in assumption.

The Bloggess – Twitter is about Humour

What started as a behind the scenes commentary to her blog, ends up being “an irrelevant, rebellious, oddly, wig-filled and utterly hilarious documentation of an otherwise normail(ish) life.

what is in an email address? heaps – email marketing Australia

August 11th, 2010 No comments

So you have an email marketing list as most companies now a days. Normally you’d be doing any of these things based on time and resources

General email marketing process

  • you send email newsletters to them regularly

  • you send ad-hoc emails during promotions
  • you look at reports and try and keep your open rates high

If you are fairly bored with repetitive emails

  • maybe you look at bounces and try and correct them
  • you might change your subject lines and try and get higher opens

If you are an Advanced email marketing user

  • you might A/B test different subject lines and content to optimise user experience
  • you might connect your emails to your analytics and read ROI from emails rather than open rates
  • you might use social media tools and connect your email newsletters to your social networks to leverage

Knowing your email subscribers social media details

We all know that the better we know our subscribers, the higher our open rates and higher conversion, But I doubt many people look at the existing list and try and use external tools to enrich user data in them.  With all the social media and api’s that let you collect information about users, it has come to a point where you should look at your subscriber list and get information such as

      • age groups
      • social network involvements (facebook, twitter, linkedin)
      • How involved they are in facebook, twitter, linked in

        Imagine …

Imagine that your list that you have today of just email addresses, lying in your email marketing platform can be grouped as active facebook users, active twitter users, social media influencers, age groups, gender, location etc The way you will be able to target the list will exponentially increase your email marketing effectiveness.

What can you do with email marketing data like this

      • send emails to facebook users asking them to join your facebook fan page
      • send special offers to twitter influencers, where if they tweet your brand, they get special offers or discounts
      • target gender specific emails on product sales
      • target age specific emails
      • target location specific emails

If you have an email marketing platform and you have a good social media strategy, we can help you get demographic and social media involvement about your users so that you can target them better and increase relevancy

Jokes aside, 100 is always a good mark. It’s always hard to get to the first hundred, then it should be easy, we hope.
